graphiquillan Why is it that whenever I venture onto a bus, I never fail to get a scary sitting next to me?
Hmm interesting I always thought that they got on my bus when I got the night duty. This is called Murphys law as it is always a Murphy that sits next to you. Who knows why they chose the seat next to you. Perhaps it’s the only dry one on the bus? Perhaps they just like annoying innocent passengers. It’s a strange thing human nature.
Regengirl Has TWM been targeting recruiting women drivers lately? I only ask as I’ve seen three today.
I don’t think so. This job has always been seen as a job for a man but in all honesty I feel that as long as they have the skills then anyone can do it. But they much be able to drive well. There are several women drivers at the garage that I work at and they are all wonderful drivers.
Arty: Do you know why some bus drivers try to get as close to the car in front of them?
Ah yes the old “lets scare the pants off the driver” move. It’s not a good thing and I do not support it. The only time I would every get very close to the car in front is if an emergency vehicle was trying to get out of a side road that I had accidently blocked. I have seen other drivers do what you describe and being honest I am appalled by it. We are all taught in training to leave enough room between us and the car in front of us to be able to move out from behind should they break down.
